A 54 year old African-American male, Eric Logan, was shot dead after being accused of rifling through cars in the small town's city center.

While it's not certain if the officer was acting in self-defense, it is alleged that Mr. Logan was holding a knife.

This is yet another controversial incident to take place at a time when Buttigieg is still struggling to gain any traction amongst minorities in trms of favorability, given the troubling relationship his town has had with the African-American community under his administration, including several other well-documented instances of him being sympathetic to the antagonizers in racially controversial incidents in the past.

The latest investigative reporting reveals that the officer responsible for his death has an extensive history of racist behavior that was not addressed.

Given past behavior, it will be interesting to see what excuse Buttigieg makes for this and how he tries to cover it up.

Good, Pete's first priority right now it to the city he is Mayor of. Yes, he is running for President, but he still has that job to do and evidently takes that quite seriously.
