The Soviet Union was diverse. Russia is, well, Russian. The Asian republics are gone now. Independent sates. The Baltics gone. The Trans-Caucasus (Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan) gone. Even Ukraine, which is Slavic like Russia is gone (except for the part the Russians stole). What are some prominent ethnic groups in Russia that are not Russian and Slavic?
There is Siberia in Eastern Russia and the Caucasus region in Southern Russia.
Not to mention a ton of ethnic groups scattered throughout all of Russia.
Some, isn't a problem to be that ignorant so why even bring them up? Culture and race/skin color are two entirely different things and most of us know that.
I bring it up in the context of City Data.
I have encountered, as has Chevy and others, more than enough people here that have claimed Canada isn't diverse based on a person's skin colour.

Siberia? A few tribal groups similar to North American Inuits spread out over a vast area. Plus ethnic Russians. The Caucasus? Yes, quite a few diverse ethnic groups live in this region on the southern edge of Russia. But what about the heart of Russia? Moscow? St. Petersburg? I would bet that the ethnic makeup of these regions of Russia is 90% plus ethnic Russian. The ethnic makeup of all Russia is close to 80% and that includes other Slavs like Ukrainians.
I remember historically when the Irish came and that was "too ethnic", along with Italians, Russian, etc.

Like it or not, we do have an identifying culture and language. Just because we have minority cultures living among us doesn't change that fact.
Yes, "E pluribus unum" Out of many ONE, not many. If you don't like it then move to the multicultural country of your dreams. Good luck though, as every country in the world has an identity all of its own.
You seem to have fundamentally misunderstood that motto.
It means we are all Americans but share many different characteristics and indeed different cultural backgrounds.

Actually, it means we become one people out of many backgrounds. We should welcome all people of all races and creeds who can contribute to our society legally. They should also assimilate to the mainstream society.
Once all shades of skin are equalized people will divide themselves along other lines such as status, intelligence, looks, etc. Humans are not ants in a colony.
Blending skin colors doesn't have anything to do with it. There would still be cultural differences and that's where the problems and differences arise.
