However, if it's in international airspace then that would be on them.

This is pretty widely accepted in the international community, Russian spy planes or US spy planes peeking over the boarder from altitude electronically or *gasp* sattelites you just don't shoot out of the sky.

This entire conversation could be had about two other countries like if Pakistan shot down an Indian drone or China shooting down a Russian object etc etc. etc.
If an Iranian drone was off our shores, even in ""International airspace", spying on us, we would shoot it down. I would support that.

So if Iran flies planes 12 miles off of California or NYC, which is international airspace. You are fine with them doing that?

It's an outrage, it should have been at least $250M.

But with the new acting SecDef (Mark Esper) comng from a job as vice president of government relations at Raytheon - that's right , a professional defense contractor lobbyist - we'll soon have that fixed.

We hate America because we don't want to get drawn into another long, expensive, drawn out, senseless, unwinnable Middle East war? It sounds like you are just itching to get us into another one. No surprises from the warmongering right. How many of your own children are you willing to send to the next senseless slaughter?

Yep. This is Saudi Arabia's war. I'm totally opposed to any Americans getting involved before a few of those Saudi princelets get killed first.

Maybe even not then, but the US damned sure ought to stay out before the Saudis start taking some hits themselves.

If we were talking about ships being attacked by Iran in the open ocean, that might be a different story, but the Saudis can damned well guard their own ports.

We did this to them back in the day, but the plane was a civilian jet liner with 290 passengers. Ironically the US ship which fired the missile was on Iranian waters. It was an accident, but stands as a good example that these kinds of things happen when things are escalated, and Trump seems hell bent on escalating this one.

The Soviet Union tried like hell to shoot down US spy planes and even succeeded. Russia doesn't have the capacity and so do the only thing they can, ignore.

Guess it is better to fly a manned aircraft, double the money plus a pilot, life is cheap to you?
