More than a country that is 10 times the size in fact. Not in relative terms, but in real terms, accepting more refugees than the USA. And Canada doesn't whine about it, but opens its arms and doors, with Caucasian residents gladly helping out people who look differently than them.
But then, Canada is not as Christian as the USA, so what would it know?

If you took off you TDS glasses and read the article you would see that the headline totally misrepresent this exchange between lawyers and judges arguing over legal technicalities.

No problem, we actually care about human beings, but then, we are not a Christian nation.
We already are. See post above yours. Far more than the USA is.
But then Canada is much less Christian.
You need to learn the difference between refugees and the 100,000+ per month "asylum" seekers in caravans. We should escort them to you. 28,000 refugees in a year is a drop in the bucket.
Nobody here ever talks about homeless American children and their hygiene needs. But take a group of gate-crashing freeloading immigrants and we’re chastised for our lack of compassion and toothpaste.
No one ever talks about it here because 1) a lot of people on here don't care about homeless American children and 2) they assume that homeless programs are taking care of the hygiene needs of the homeless.
At my church, we pack up bags of soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, combs, etc. to give out to homeless people on the street or when they come to our church for meals. Your assertion that "nobody" cares about homeless people in America is utterly without merit.
This is not a zero sum issue: we can care about our homeless AND the families being held in poor conditions on the border. You can be totally against immigration if you want, but that does not give anyone the right to treat human beings like animals.
Jesus H Christ. I get that oral hygiene is a basic thing that can and should be offered but really, just HOW much are we obligated here? Should we outfit them, give them toys, and sign them up for sports teams, too?
How freaking negligent can parents be, and how broke can we go making up for their negligence?
Jesus H. Christ Murderers & Rapists in our prisons are getting better treatment than these kids. Many of these parents would be negligent to stay in conditions where their children would be recruited into gangs & selling drugs or be murdered.
If I were in some of the situations I have heard I would try everything in my soul to get my children out. A real blanket and some soap & toothbrushes would help. Hell make the murderers in jail do without the basics and give it to the kids.

You do realize the government machine and bureaucratic red tape make things like this impossible right? Not to mention the activists that would come out of the woodwork for the inmates being marginalized or mistreated. All hail big government.
