Well, let's hope that the news agencies produce more specific information about this possible threat. It could be that the police have withheld such information, to deprive anyone who made threats, from getting any publicity about it.

There was no "threat." It started over this tweet.

No, none of them were armed, it was a joke tweet sent by a Republican senator after the dimms canceled a planned Saturday session, after members of the Three Percenters of Oregon said they would protest in support of the Republican senators.
It even got Occasional-Cortex all worked up.

It sort of has the stink of, I don't know, false flag? Kids can't play nice together so maybe the dems have someone make a few anonymous calls issuing threats. Make the other team look bad. When it comes to politicians I have learned to always assume the worst.

Political operatives doing bad things to help the party isn't rare.

What is happening in Oregon is Fascism. A right-wing militia threatening public servants is fascism in all its glory. It is the very definition of fascism.

It should be condemned by Republicans and conservatives, but it won't be because they lack spine or agree with these tactics.
condemn what, exactly?
be specific.

For some people, it's strictly a matter of not being on the right "team".

Some background:
2 months ago Oregon Republicans decided that the way to "represent" their constituencies was to refuse to show up for work. Gov Kate brown didn't enforce the Oregon constitution, specifically Oregon Constitution, Article IV, Section 12:
Two thirds of each house shall constitute a quorum to do business, but a smaller number may meet; adjourn from day to day, and compel the attendance of absent members. Instead folks negotiated that the Republicans would not do this again, and in exchange 2 Bill's, that the majority of the people of Oregon wanted, were killed.

Now that should have been the end of it, except the Republicans lied. They decided to do it again. So far this is just politics. Republicans representing folks by proving they are not people who keep their word. Except....
One of them decided to announce that “Send bachelors and come heavily armed. I’m not going to be a political prisoner in the state of Oregon. It’s just that simple". Others got far right armed Oregon militia to apparently get involved as well. Let's call this what it is. Terrorism. Literally it meets the definition.

When someone tells you what they are, believe them. These folks have said they will murder cops. Believe them. They're terrorists. This is no longer a political discussion. This is a discussion between the state of Oregon, and terrorists. The threats made by militias have been common. I follow some of these groups and watch what they discuss, and violence is a common refrain. The Oregon State Police are absolutely correct in saying there is a "possible threat". A lot of the Yaallqueda in Oregon talk and make threats more then actually carry them out. But there is a significant risk that some of them might go further.

"It" appears to be self-defense. And even if it weren't, violence (or the threat of violence) is not the same as terrorism. Terrorism is violence against innocent citizens for the purpose of inducing their government to change its policies to placate the outcry from the citizenry. Terrorism against a government is impossible by definition.
