Interesting!
I often wondered if there were "hidden" motives behind the desire to ban abortions.
There very well could be a push to delay the "browning of America."
It appears that abortion has become a rights issue - the right of the unborn baby, once conceived, to have a chance to be born versus the right of the mother who wants the "right" to terminate the baby while declaring that "it is my body."
If man and woman conceived the child, then there are three rights to consider - the rights of the man, the rights of the woman and the rights of the baby. Once the baby is conceived, then the baby's rights should not be minimized or subservient to the rights of the mother!
Many times, it appears that a pregnancy may be "inconvenient" and the commitment for 9 months or the commitment to the child for 18 years is too high a price to pay!
There may indeed be a correlation with the rise of abortions and rise of feminism whereby to have the ability to abort is somehow a declaration of empowerment.
Personally, I feel that every child is a blessing and has the capacity to be a great person if there is love, compassion and commitment to the child by God-fearing responsible parents.
Frankly, abortion should only be considered in circumstances such as rape, incest, medical emergencies to protect the life of the mother and if the baby has a high probability of extreme deformation or other serious medical ailment.
