The LGBT community does not want acceptance- they want conquest and conversion.
Like most in the liberal tent, they cannot tolerate any views that do not coincide with their perception of the world. So you must not only tolerate homosexuality, you must celebrate and recognize homosexuality as a superior lifestyle.
Libs are totalitarian by nature, so all of their agendas end up along these hostile, aggressive avenues.

Anecdotal I know but the two gay people I know best are married to each other.
They do not particularly like the TQ part of LGBTQ and somewhat resent the addition. They mostly just want to be left alone to live their lives.
Not sure how many people are comfortable with the more activist end of the movement. The one that lets boys who ID as girls claim the number 1 and 2 spots in the CT state running championships for example.
Of course most people don't align with the more activist spectrum -- left, right, male, female, LGBTQ or not....very few of us identify with the activists in those groups.
It was a crime to be gay and if someone didn't fight for it -- it still would be that way.
The day a drag queen reads at a library and y'all don't get excited about it -- that's the day then we can say -- okay -- they have rights just like us.
Until then -- when you resent the fact that there is a story showing a drag queen reading........there seems to be some work to be done.
For the record...I've been in high schools and seen how the kids react to the LGBTQ community and they aren't as uptight, obsessed, bothered, ....even when they aren't comfortable with it.
I'm not totally comfortable with Kaitlyn Jenner -- but I don't begrudge a fuss being made about her.....Some day I might be more comfortable as I see it more.
(I've known a few transgender and it is difficult to go through the process and see the changes and just jump on board....even with an open minded -- it is an adjustment).
Most people generally don't like the idea that some claim to be a "minority" based on the kind of sexual activity they like to perform in the bedroom or what gender they identify with.

Who is talking about what they are doing in the bedroom? I go to several pride events and none discuss bedroom activities, unless you are at a safe sex discussion.
I hear more straight people talking about their sex lives and that is on any given Tuesday.
A drag queen reads to kids the same reason a straight man would read to children, because they can read to children.
Why is it so important to you that drag queens not be allowed to read to kids?
We are working towards the day when we can say -- that person came to read and nobody comments on whether they are straight, lgbt or q...they just read.
But to get to that there is a transition where some of you feel threatened because the LGBTQ community fights to make it normal for a drag queen to read to kids.

Why is it so important that what is essentially an ADULT entertainer read aloud to children at libraries?
Why can't a gay person just go and read to children? No one would care. No one would even know if the person was gay or not. It'd just be a PERSON reading to kids.

But day to day when was the last time someone forced fed you their LBGT-ness.
In some cities that I have lived, there has been an active Gay community, and it is not unusual to be bombarded with the message, and the public "activity". Yes, I can ignore it, and I do. I am not demanding that they stop being that way with each other as long as its not pornographic. It only really bothers me when kids are around, or they choose to involve them in parades, and other activities.
Yes, I get it, your Gay (not you Moneill), don't make a big deal about it, and just live your life, and I will live mine.
Here's another example of transgender people demanding that we go out of our way to "accommodate" them: Some transgender people in the entertainment industry are demanding that IMDb remove their credits/the name they're under from before they transitioned because they say having their birth name there outs them and makes them vulnerable to discrimination. Well, the reason your old name is there is because you were credited in a work under that name and in order for the public to make the connection between your filmography and a work's credits your name needs to appear as it does in the credits. That is not being treated any differently than anyone else who changed their name and has credits from before the name change, and IMDb has a strict policy of not deleting credits or splitting filmographies just because one wants to disassociate themselves from old credits.

^^^^^This. If you don't promote, and glorify their LGBT-ness they (and their virtue signaling supporters) label you a HOMOPHOBE, and demonize you unfairly. They are hypocrites as they are doing the same to straight people as was done to them in the past. Hypocrites. Not all the community, but the vocal and visible ones.
