Global cooling worries amounted to a couple of articles in the 70s, right wingers talk about it 100x more than anyone else ever did.
Climate change started being used because right wingers used every cooler than average temperature for a day as proof there is no global warming as if one day in one area represents the whole planet's climate.
Climate emergency is being used because right wingers have successfully obstructed any attempt to deal with climate change.
You don't have to believe climate change is real, but the language shouldn't be confusing to anyone with at least a 6th grade understanding of English.
As the effects of climate change become more serious, it is becoming an emergency. Climate change will become the most important issue in the next 5 to 10 years. It doesn't matter what you all think. It will happen.
Thats what industry said when cap and trade was used to reduce acid rain. Then it worked remarkably well. Industry innovated, pollution was reduced, the market rewarded the innovative and left the polluters behind.
