The heatwave in 2003 killed so many people....30,000 in Europe, 15,000 in France....a lot of studies came out of it.

Mainly that Paris's urban heat island is >15 degrees F....so it can be over 15 degrees hotter in the city than it is outside the city

NASA came up with more than 15 degrees F difference between Paris and outside Paris

Climatologists have been aware of the urban heat island effect since at least the 1970's if not before. You want us to believe that the on-going upward trend in global temperatures is merely an artifact of our increasingly urban modern world. Even the two sources you gave us links for do NOT state that. What the researchers in those two studies said is that global warming is making the heat island effect even worse than what it would be without a blanket of increased CO2 covering the globe.

The town I live in has a population of 8,000 and the nearest city with a significant heat island effect is Denver - almost 400 miles from my rural location. Despite this fact, our temperatures have been averaging from 3 - 5 degrees F above normal this summer so far. The same was true last summer as well as the summer before (2017). We are not an anomaly. The same is true of the San Juan Mountains (hint: there are no urban heat islands in the San Juans) and every other rural area in Colorado. The same is true for the other Western states and the entire US. If you bothered to check the weather almanacs for where you live, they would tell the same story.

Our climate alarmist nutcakes are jealous they couldn't pull something like that off. To be fair, if you have adopted the climate alarmist religion, this is your holy mission.

CR..what are you babbling on about?...is you mind on paranoia over drive?

...I didn't say any of that

Only that the recorded high temp in Paris is a result of the Paris urban heat island...and it is

..and it can be a good 15F hotter in the city because of it

Don’t more people die from cold than heat? I think so.

At least SoCal doesnt ever have crazy high humidity!

I dont mind straight heat too much, but humidity, that is TERRIBLE to contend with, anything over 55% is really oppressive, makes it harder to breath, clothes stick to your skin, nasty!

My mind tends to favor analytical thought, not paranoia. You have been perfectly clear - the record temperatures in Paris are due only to the urban heat island effect. This is not true. The high temps in Paris are due to both the heat island effect AND global warming. Global warming makes the heat island effect worse than it would be otherwise.
