There are various elements that make up culture, but all in all I would give US culture a D, based on school grades.

I don't think one can say, well, pop culture doesn't count. After all, pop stands for popular, it is the culture that appeals to most people.

There is no singular American culture.

I don't think American culture in general is bad, but there are certainly aspects that are undesirable. But how to judge what is good and what is bad - that is by definition a value judgement. The strength of our culture is that we allow people with widely varying values to express themselves. It is our challenge to co-exist. I have not run across any culture that doesn't have some disturbing/destructive/unpleasant aspects.

I agree, except the Beatles were British, so....

I love American culture - - it's the part of the United States that I like the most. For my tastes, it has my favorite television, movies, novels, plays, sports, etc.

According to liberals we have no identifying culture. We are supposedly multi-cultural. We are just a mutt country according to them.

The first question that leaps to mind is exactly what do you mean by American culture? Americans are all over the map, really. American culture has produced Warren Jeffs and it has also produced Walt Whitman, to choose two individuals for no reason whatever except that they popped into my mind right this minute.

My take on it is that American culture is one of the most freewheeling on the planet. And I like it that way, even if some of the results can be, well, um, putrid.

The Beatles became a large part of American culture. Much of our culture is influenced by foreign sources.
