I'm picturing Georgia circa 1850. After a long hot day picking cotton in the summer sun the slaves gather around the fire and discuss who has the kindest master.
It's a scene, man.
That has to be the best response in this thread. An SJW liberal wouls be easily triggered by your post here.
name some countries that are better than US for opportunities and overall quality of life.
Norway for one.
Quality of life?
Norway
Australia
Japan
The USA is a great country, but we are in a decline. I blame the 2 parties for selling us out over the last 3 decades. The 2 parties are what is ruining the USA. The greed and thirst for power at our expense. Add to this the sheep that defend them.
No, but you are required to have questionable ethics hiding Nazi era loot and money, embezzlement from craptastic human rights violating third world dictators.
Once you look some countries under the hood and strip away histories and self-made myths, you realize that America is the best country - and I say that as someone with recent immigrants in my family. Sure we can do better in many areas, but overall the US is the best.

No ones saying any place is better but it’s naive to think we’re the greatest country on earth. From some of the posts I’ve seen on C-D this country is being ripped apart. And it’s BOTH part parties hate for each other, like little whiney, spoiled children. There is nothing wrong with having pride in ones country but the nerve it takes to say we’re better then the rest is stupid and narcissistic .
Given the money I leave for one I want to see other parts of the world, and I don’t want to be here when you all rip each other apart.
Wrong. It’s because of good governance, strong rights/personal liberty, opportunity. Has nothing to do with tax laws. Nearly every country in the world does this in different ways.
Ha ha to most of that. Now I don't believe that US tax laws are the main reason...just part of the reasons. However you are incorrect about other countries doing overreach in different ways.
Only the US and Eritrea tax their citizens regardless of where they live. In other words I as a Canadian can move outside of Canada and live anywhere and not have to file Canadian income taxes. You as an American are bound by your citizenship must regardless where you live. Some freedom!
Japan, Israel, Poland, Hungary, and every other country whose government opposes immigration.
Immigration is our thing though.
