The only real way the modern world can change is individually. Obviously, this White Guy's families were in Italy and Russia and not involved in any way, shape or form with American slavery or other crimes. But we are now multi-generational Americans and we certainly aren't going believe in the Confederacy!
You can call that what you want - I call it learning lessons from history and then applying them. The opposite is to repeat history, which we seem stuck in doing (or some do).
