This is very true. You can go to any era of the past and find racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. The Left is now using historical people, paintings, murals, and monuments to virtue signal using today's social morays.

I hear what you are saying, but different era. Liberals in the 60's were anti government, anti "establishment" and for freedoms and liberty. Today's liberals are STATIST Progressives where they look to Government and more taxes as the solution to everything.
Today's "liberals" are big government collectivists and CONTROL FREAKS. Think PC movement. Very different from the 60s'.

Did they not attribute it to the 1970 incident? As far as 1970 and parental discipline and supervision goes, remember, at Kent State, one of the persons crying over a shot protester was a 14 year old runaway. Permissiveness that was routine then would be fodder for a CPS report now.

Was it a moral issue they took with the "incident" or was it a business concern over loss of sponsorship or other monetary concern? That's my point.
