All anyone has to do to see that going along with Dems and their ideology disproportionately results in a life sentence of struggle and misery is to look at the politics of public assistance dependence. Among public assistance recipients, Dem voters outnumber GOP voters by more than 2 to 1.
Percent of Public Assistance Program Recipients Who Identify as:
Democrat:
Public Housing: 81%
Medicaid: 74%
Food Stamps: 67%
Welfare or public assistance: 63%
Republican:
Public Housing: 12%
Medicaid: 16%
Food Stamps: 20%
Welfare or public assistance: 22%
Yeah. I guess with roughly 65 million black people in America one can find a deluded one who says he supports Trump. I guess in the 1930s one could have found a German Jew who supported Hitler.
I'm not sure what this thread is supposed to prove. What we have is a leader and his political party, who when given the opportunity, pass laws and take executive actions that undercut the rights of minorities. In Republican controlled states, blacks are gerrymandered into districts in order to reduce their effect on choosing elected officials. When given the chance, Republicans suppress black voting -- either by restricting days and times of voting or other ways to make it harder for blacks to vote.
What does conservative mean any more? Conservatives used to believe in allowing the free market to make decisions in an economy and not pick winners and losers. Under Trump, we see that industries he likes get assistance, like the coal industry, which is dying due to market forces. We also see tariffs, that conservatives used to rightly object because it distorts the market. Then we see an unprecedented level of self-dealing, feather-bedding and profiteering. That's contrary to conservative principles.
30 years ago, I was a conservative and believed in balanced budgets, limited foreign intervention and limiting the government's encroachment upon individual liberties and freedom. Today, I believe in balanced budgets, limited foreign intervention and limiting the government's encroachment upon individual liberties and freedom, but now I'm called a liberal.
Conservatives of yesteryear respected state sovereignty and believed that throwing human beings into cages in detention centers was only what the Communists in China did. Today's conservatives have no compunction about using their federal muscle to try to overrule state courts. It's repugnant that we are even debating the merits of putting kids in cages.
You only calling it "common sense" because he says what YOU want to hear. He doesn't represent the majority of African-Americans. His opinion is his own.
"You only calling it "common sense" because he says what YOU want to hear."
You only NOT calling it "common sense" because he says what YOU DON'T want to hear.
He just spouts a bunch of misleading right wing talking points without context.
"No, he doesn't."
Glad to see you admit what he says is over your head.
