It's a self-deprecating name to begin with. Confederate railroads were notoriously problematic; the track gauges weren't uniform, so hauling cargo from point A to point C often meant unloading and reloading at point B because the train that started out from point A wouldn't run on the tracks that go to point C. Plus all the parts were made in the north so if an engine broke down during the Civil War they were just stuck. Basically it was a clusterf***,

Odd that some of the same people who say bakeries can deny service to gay couples just because don't think the state fair can restrict a band because of their name? Now personally, I think it's a bit silly. Did they not know the band was Confederate Railroad before they signed them? CR has been around a long time. But if they got enough push back on a band named Confederate Railroad playing their fair, it makes sense to ask them not to come. Pretty sure CR is happy with the press. They're getting more of it now than they would have just by playing
