"Illegal alien" has long been verboten in favor of "undocumented immigrant," but they've stumbled upon something better. In this sad account of how an illegal alien was just recently deemed ineligible for the death penalty because he only had a 5th-grade education, and there were no "special needs" classes in rural Mexico, the miscreant is described first as an immigrant in the headline, as a Mexican immigrant at the beginning of the article, then as a Mexican immigrant who's been in the United States without authorization for about 20 years. Whew!
This lowlife gang member was deported and returned to the U.S. over the course of 20 years. He shot and killed a working stiff kid over a pack of cigarettes at an AZ convenience store 3 years ago. But now HE'S the victim. And the complicit media can't bring themselves to call him what he is: An illegal alien who killed a 21-year-old American citizen.

To me -- I don't care if they say illegal resident, illegal alien, Mexican immigrant.....it can't get any worse than it is already. It is horrific.

Not horrific enough on THIS side of the border, in my opinion.
So now all illegal aliens are going to become “refugees seeking asylum”?
What happened to all the poor people just coming here for jobs? Suddenly they are all fleeing violence?

Mexican immigrant refers to a legal immigrant from Mexico. You aren't an immigrant until you are legal since you can't take up permanent residence somewhere unless you are legal.

There's a real simple solution to this.
The President gets on TV and radio and asks illegal aliens to leave the US at once and simultaneously closes all borders so that the only entry into the US is those with diplomatic, military, business or sports and entertainment visas (and, yes, those are all visa classes). No tourist visas and no other immigration visas.

29 days and 23 hours later, the President goes on TV and radio at 11:00 PM and declares a national emergency in effect at midnight, with a curfew of 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, and any natural-born or naturalized US Citizen age 21 or older with no felony or misdemeanor arrests is authorized to enroll on-line as a volunteer Deputy US Marshal.
They complete the on-line application, get their ID number and they're allowed to be armed and beginning at midnight have the authority to arrest any illegal alien, seize any property, including hospitals, schools and churches on which illegal aliens reside or are standing or are hiding and arrest any person, including State, county and city law enforcement officers who interfere. Those persons will be adjudicated before a military tribunal the same day, with one tribunal for each federal court district, and sentenced to a minimum mandatory 10 years at Guantanamo, and if Guantanamo fills up, they can open Fort McCoy or Fort Chaffee (where the Cubans were held).
The only "sanctuaries" are US military bases and federal office buildings, where the illegals will be promptly arrested and deported.
The principle is "Ask, Tell, Show" ask them to leave, tell them to leave, then show them the door.
The deputies are paid a bounty of $10,000 for each illegal and the seized property is auctioned off with half going to the deputy who seized it and the other half used to pay bounties.
His illegal status doesn't change the court ruling because of the SC decision on not allowing executions of intellectually disabled people. I don't know what the standards are for proving someone is disabled enough that they truly didn't understand their actions, but they should be pretty high standards, as in the person literally is unable to understand reality like a normal person should. From the article, it doesn't appear this guy was truly handicapped, he just didn't get to go to school.
