A New York man convicted of brutally murdering a 16-year-old girl in 1980 was released from prison Monday despite outrage from community members and criticism from the state's former governor.

Bohovesky, an honors student, was walking home from her part-time job at the library on Oct. 28, 1980, in Pearl River, a quiet community some 30 miles north of New York City. Police say she was hit in the head with a concrete block, raped twice, strangled and stabbed five times just a block away from her home by LaBarbera and Robert McCain what the local medical examiner described as the most brutal murder he had ever seen.
This kind of crap is the reason why more people are for the death penalty. Great job parole board, scumbags.

Geez, what about this statement from the Gov (not that it could actually get any worse)!

Pataki said. “I have been very careful about not commenting on state government policies since I left office, but this release of this rapist and murderer is so hideous to me, I really feel an obligation to speak out so that first, hopefully, it won't happen, but if it sadly does, that it won't happen again.”

You have to love that last part!! What a huge jerk. LOL

Good for Pataki--and there was nothing wrong with his statement.

This release, BTW, is typical of what's going on in NY. And much of it is being promoted by the anti-DP crowd. They not only want to eliminate the DP where it still exists, but where it doesn't exist (i.e., NY) they want to eliminate true life sentences. That was always their intention.

Wake up, sheeple.

Yes, this is exactly the kind of case that deserves the death penalty (assuming that there is absolutely ZERO chance of innocence, of course).

Why taxpayers should be forced to provide shelter, food and medical care for these kinds of human excrement for more than a week (at most) after all appeals have been exhausted is beyond my understanding! (The week would be to arrange the details of the actual execution.)

Pataki was the "last best hope" for NYS. The first governor in years that wasn't a complete moron. A far better man than the one he replaced-and far, far better than the one that next got the job. The Cuomo dynasty has been a disaster for the state.

And when the people don't have guns to defend themselves they will be victimized by whatever gets out of prison.
