Illegals do not qualify for welfare. I've argued many years that we need to hit the employers that hire them and hit them hard.

I asked before (with no answer so far). What other international laws are proposing to over ride US laws?
It will be difficult for those crossed illegally to claim asylum because they will be placed in removal proceedings. Those in removal proceedings are barred from filing asylum claims.

She was looking for a specific answer - that he was responsible for separating families, so she could browbeat him for being a terrible human being.

She just wanted to get the answer she wanted. Forget the law - give me my answer so that I am better than you.

She asked him if it was his recommendation as stated on the paper to separate families or not.

Grammar nazis.

He clarified WHAT he recommended which is zero tolerance, not simply separating families. He knows she was looking for the pull quote to publicize - that's all she was doing.

The paper had a separation of families on it. You have to separate families to have zero tolerance?

Which is when he clarified that any US citizen if arrested with their children will be separated from their parents. Why should people here illegally NOT be separated if they are arrested?

Did you not listen to what was being said?
