Having apologized last year for its supposedly racist, Eurocentric past, National Geographic now declares that there are no real Europeans.
Quote:
The idea that there were once “pure” populations of ancestral Europeans, there since the days of woolly mammoths, has inspired ideologues since well before the Nazis. It has long nourished white racism, and in recent years it has stoked fears about the impact of immigrants: fears that have threatened to rip apart the European Union and roiled politics in the United States.
Now scientists are delivering new answers to the question of who Europeans really are and where they came from. Their findings suggest that the continent has been a melting pot since the Ice Age. Europeans living today, in whatever country, are a varying mix of ancient bloodlines hailing from Africa, the Middle East, and the Russian steppe.
The European Union is been torn apart because a lot of people don't want to be part of a United States of Europe, and the EU has gone from a simple trading organisation to a vast political union with dederal ambitions without consulting the people of Europe.
As for the population of Europe, it was not subject to mass immigaration over history, indeed most immigration came from other parts of Europe and most population growth was among traditional populations.
This is what happens when political correctness runs amok and infiltrates all aspects of life, including the sciences. Once an agenda overtakes the facts, this is the result.

Times a billion.
Take a great idea, A European market, and make it into a political union of countries that are too far apart economically and culturally. Then make it extreme PC.

No mass immigration into the continent in the last 5000 years; none going back much further if we consider Western Russia, source of the Indo Europeans, and Turkey, home of the Neolithic farmers, as part of larger Europe.

Government can not help itself but to grow exponentially, become more controlling and more intrusive. It happened with the Federal government in the U.S. It ends up trampling rights, and freedoms, and making you bend to their will.
