You name it. They have done it.
The party of Slavery. The Party of the KKK. The Party of Jim Crow. The Party of Segregation. The Party of internment camps. The Party of Abortion. The Party of the Democrat killing fields.
The Party of Crimes against humanity and individual freedoms.

... and today they are turning a blind eye to the crisis at the border to the detriment of America itself.

The Republicans have their faults as well but even with their questionable policies people were still allowed to move forward in their lives with Freedom but with the Democrats it is all about control of the people.

Is this how a racial argument goes between two white people? Because I'm looking at this and thinking to myself "Sounds like generic 1950's white to me". I guess this is where black folks and even Democratic white folks diverge. And lets not get started on Republicans, do I need to quote the President?

In other words both parties seemed on board with the status que for 200+ years. Individuals within certain parties with a backbone stepped up after years of pleading and killing of black folk, but lets not pretend there was full Party support for civil right until the 1960's, magically when the South flipped.

Imagine an America without Jim Crow through after slavery. Imagine a population that actually held its country to the words written in the Constitution and amendments. Imagine a country that spent the last 120 years moving past racism instead of embracing and enshrining it into law for another 100 years. Again neither side did black folks a favor.

The Democratic Socialistic Party supports abortion over life, Illegal Aliens over
American Citizens, and refugees over Veterans is going to lecture me on Morals. I don't think so !

It's a sad day when it's easier to abort an American Child then to
deport an illegal alien.

YOu have to go back 50+ years to find a time when the Dems were the racists. I prefer to focus on today, where they realized their wrongs, and changed paths. Those who wanted to stay racist defected and joined the R's. And now we have a bunch of people supporting a racist president and trying to bring up the past to justify doing it now. (and if you were bold enough to pretend you didn't know the POTUS was racist before this weekend, that's all changed. Now you'd better either proudly own it, or denounce him.)

Maxine Waters opposes voter I.D. laws;
She thinks they are racist.

However you need a photo I.D. to attend her
town hall meetings.

AND MY FAVORITE:

Q: Which Political Party decided to start
giving annuity payments to immigrants?

A: That's right!
Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party.
Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65,
began to receive Social Security payments! The
Democratic Party gave these payments to them,
even though they never paid a dime into it!

The evidence is clear for all except for the blind, deaf and stupid, You just have to respect all that intellectual fire power of the Democratic Socialistic Party

The right side of History

Ideally, the American people learn from their mistakes and grow past them. The Democratic party grew to enormous size because it championed the causes of free farmers and working townsfolk.

In the beginning the farmers usually had small holdings, they weren't the agri-businesses of today, although some in the south grew to become very grand plantations.

Yes, many unpleasant things happened under Democratic administrations in years gone by, the Indian removals for one, the war with Mexico for another. The American people wanted Indian lands and Mexican lands and the Democratic party responded to the political desires of the day.

That doesn't make it right, it is our history and we can not change it. But we can change ourselves.

The progressive movement actually began in the Republican party. The Republican party was the font of many liberal causes, like the abolition of slavery and the child labor laws.

But the Republican party was also the home of big business, and when the liberals wanted to protect the working people and their families they were no longer welcome in the Republican party, so the movement found a home among the national Democrats, in coalition with the labor movements growing in the big (mostly northern) cities and nationwide businesses (like railroads and mines) and they have accomplished many wonderful things since.
  • Minimum wage laws
  • Mine safety and other workplace safety
  • Social Security Old Age and Disability insurance
  • Consumer product safety
  • Food safety
  • Fair Housing
  • Truth in packaging and product labeling
  • Cleaner air
  • Cleaner water (no more burning rivers)
  • ... and more recently, consumer financial protections.
And many more initiatives to help ordinary people live better lives. We, the American people, can learn from our mistakes and move on.

Democrats do.
