Former federal prosecutor Glen Kirschner noted on Wednesday that the Southern District of New York is most likely holding back on indicting Donald Trump over the hush money payments made to his mistresses until he leaves the White House.

Kirschner said that he reread Judge William Pauley’s orders from Wednesday to understand what the Southern District of New York prosecutors said about the documents being sealed or not.

Southern District cannot charge the president right now because the office of legal counsel memo says you can’t indict a sitting president, then it could be the Southern District of New York has an interest in bringing one unified conspiracy case against all four possible co-conspirators the day President Trump leaves office.”

It is bizarre that Michael Cohen would be the only one sitting prison for aiding and abetting the Trump crime family while Individual #1 and the rest of the crime family gets to golf.

It is why Trump will be especially desperate to not leave office.

There’s not going to be an indictment of an ex-president unless they do something serious. Campaign finance violations are not going to cut it.

He should have listened to Howard Stern and not run for President.

Trump can fly away when he leaves office and live out the rest of his life at one of his golf courses over seas. He'll pardon Manafort and Epstien to take with him.

Oh, for crying in the night. Republicans would have indicted Clinton if they could have found anything. As it was, the Republican House impeached Clinton over lying about a consensual blow job with a woman in her twenties.

Democrats may be disorganized and far too willing to write memos and wring their hands instead of following up on subpoenas, but anyone who believes that Trump won't be indicted the minute he leaves office is fooling themselves.

Somehow I believe Trump will walk away without a scratch. The liberals have been living in a fantasy land over this for the last three years. Nothing but disappointment for you!

This is the "opinion" of a former prosecutor. We've heard plenty of opinions about Trump. That's how someone gets an article in a news rag.

No other substance to it beyond that.

Me thinks the fantasy is about your hero of whom you are imagining has super powers.

There is much substance to the legal rationale presented.

Mr. Weisselberg received grand jury immunity during Mr. Cohen's prosecution, it's likely the Trump Organization chief financial officer had already told prosecutors about Donald Trump Jr.'s involvement.

While Mr. Cohen testified Mr. Trump directed him to use his own funds from a home equity line of credit to pay off Ms. Clifford to avoid any money being traced back to Mr. Trump.
