Do you not know any history of Cuba?
Why is that the Cubans' fault?! Did the Cubans vote Castro into office?
I am simply against any attempts to force regime change by starving the innocent population. We are not in the Middle Ages anymore. I am also against it in Venezuela etc.

It is already a tourist hub with many Canadians and Europeans visiting the island already.

Why? Why should Cuba not use its natural resources (climate, beaches) to make some money and create jobs for the population? Other islands nearby do the same thing...

It is the country of Cuba's fault. Castro became friends with our enemy, the Soviet Union. We almost went to nuclear war due to Cuba. Why should the U.S. reward the Castro regime who would have just stolen any aid, and continued to OPPRESS the Cuban people. Many came to the U.S., remember. They were welcomed.

Yep. People kinda miss that point out of ignorance. Cuba has had lots of trade and tourism for years.

Weird how China, Russia and Cuba have all shifted capitalist.

It's almost like the problem was communism. Wierd huh?

That makes no sense. Do you seriously suggest all Cubans should emigrate so that Castro is alone on the island? You are confusing the people with the political leadership. That is why you have to abstract and lump them all into one Cuba drawer, else you would have to admit that you are being unfair.

The almost nuclear war was due to the US placing nuclear bombs in Turkey, i.e. again the US' fault.

Plus, Russia is anything but communist these days, to the contrary. And China is a mixed, very Chinese system.

I don't have a narrow horizon the way many Americans have. I look at it objectively and it is easy to see that the socialist Cuban government is not in power despite the sanctions and boycotts, but because of them.
Once Cuba starts to boom, it will automatically open up and become friendlier, I mean the government, the people already are super friendly, anyway.
Oh ...I see...Like China and Iran did !!! I see why you have no problem with Communism !!! A lot of people don't know how to deal with individual freedom and need someone to tell them what is good for them !!!
So I get it !!!

Well good for them. What's the logic of more punitive relations with Cuba, when Trump is buddy-buddy with Putin in Russia? We probably have better relations with Vietnam than we do with Cuba. This seems like yet another petty attempt to spite former President Obama, rather than the master plan of a stable genius. If we want Cuba to change, better relations, increased trade, and tourism are the fastest way to do it.

Let's see. "Progressive" leftists simultaneously believe.
  • Putin is allied with Trump
  • Putin Modernizes Cuba to Spite Trump
Their total lunacy has to be seen to be believed.
