Sadly people are going to be put to death on bogus charges in order to satisfy the disgusting regime that runs Iran.

Suspects were arrested during previous months, an Iranian intelligence official told a press conference.

He did not say how many had been sentenced to death, and did not give his name, which is unusual.

Reporters were told, however, that he was the director of the counterespionage department at Iran's Intelligence Ministry.

While I do not know the particulars of this story, I would have to say that there is clear proof that the US has spies in Iran.

As such, not sure how you can come to the immediate conclusion that the charges are bogus.

Heck we spy on EVERYBODY, including Merkels phone tap plus much much more.

I have no idea about the guilt or innocence of this group of people, but the idea that the U.S. does not have agents in Iran would be unbelievable.

And remember the U.S. and the U.K. knew that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and launched an invasion that killed thousands and is still causing havoc in Middle East.

All governments "know" who are the guilty whenever it is convenient to their purposes.

They’re actually willing to randomly round up and kill their own citizens just to make it look like they’re standing up to the United States.

Exactly.

No doubt these 17 are just as guilty as the likes of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe who is British and was sentenced to 5 years in an Iranian Prison after being accused of plotting to topple the government in Tehran, even though no official charges were ever made public.

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe: What is Iran jail case about? - BBC News

And there are numerous other westerns including Americans also being held in Iranian Prisons on dubious charges and without a fair trial, again courtesy of the likes of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

Iran's jailed dual nationals and their uncertain fate - BBC News

The fact somne people are defending Iran is unbelievable, they have a disgusting human rights record and not one of these individuals has had a fair public trial, it's just based on the world if the authorities such as the Revolutionary Guard.

As for putting these people to death, it just demonstrates how appauling the Iranian regime is.

Pointing out that you and others are doing absolutely nothing but "guess" is not defending Iran.

This is like watching a Monty Python sketch of Sherlock Homes where John Cleese just walks into a room points at someone and says "He did it." and then walks back out without explanation.

I don't find people being executed with no evidence provided and without a fair public trial amusing in the least or akin to watching a monty python sketch.

Whoa now...might or might not?
That there is pro-Iran talk in these parts mister.

You may find yerself the target of a whole heap of emojis from the Local Sherriff Roscoe and his deputy Enis.

They get especially feisty sometimes and post stuff about countries using things like indefinite detentions which we would never do here in the US of A!
