If single mom have two children and $15 minimum does not go far enough to care for her and children should company have to pay more so mom not use state welfare?
Nope ... but somebody should be paying more.
Like the father(s) of those two kids - they should be paying mom more.

No, not in salary. But if the company were providing some medical benefits, the total compensation could be higher (like if paying portion of the health insurance premium).
Otherwise it is "corporate welfare" like other person say.
I already answered your question, not sure what else to say.
San Francisco is one of the most expensive places in the country, that's why they are already at $15+ minimum wage as opposed to the federal minimum of $7.25.
If pay had kept pace with their productivity and value to the company, they'd all be getting over $15/hr now. What the chart shows is that corporations have done a good job of holding pay down while extracting more value out of employees. No wonder we have a wealth and income inequality problem in the U.S.
And that new tv you want to buy will now cost $2000. instead of $900.
Somebody has to pay for the increase in the minimum wage, and that my friends is going to be John Q. Public.
I don't think there is a business on the planet that would be willing to eat the increase in labor cost.
I can't understand these brain dead people who are for a higher minimum wage.
All that will do is increase the cost of all goods, and services, so what will be gained?
People complain they can't live on what they are making presently.
Well, the solution is not to up the cost of living, which any increase in the minimum wage will do.
The best solution is to freeze wages, and prices for as long as it takes to balance the economy.
Increasing the minimum wage is not the answer.
Bob.
I'm not sure why they are for higher minimum wage either. I'm not even good at math. It just seems like common sense to me that making everyone make more is going to make everything cost more.
I'm not sure freezing wages is the answer either. The answer is employers need to be less strict/black and white with who they hire. One part of this is possibly doing away with online applications and go back to paper. With online a lot of people don't have a fighting chance at getting a better paying job because their application goes into the abyss.
that excuse doesn't alleviate him of his responsibility
What about moms responsibility. Why isnt she making more?
