the 'block party' in the title from 'the hill' was admittedly quite misleading. that makes it sound like it was in someone's backyard.

And yet a noose triggers black people and that is not ok. Why is hitting an ICE effigy not in that same category?

Ok with whom? Is it a crime to make a balloon baby of Trump? Do I think all of this is stupid? Of course, but that doesn't mean people are barred from being stupid. I don't care what idiots spend their time doing as long as they don't assault others or destroy someone else's property.

Perhaps in response to the ICE FB page making fun of dead asylum-seekers?

Just as I have been saying all along. Hispanics stick together right or wrong. It's a tribal mentality. The term Chicano is one used to refer to U.S. citizens of Hispanic/Mexican descent so why would they have a problem with ICE rounding up illegal aliens?

Maybe the CoC will be better prepared to handle such situations in the future if they want to remain less political. If they don't then people who might be considering moving to that location will have pause. Or residents will complain about it if they don't like it.

The fact that it was a chamber of commerce is even worse. Like we don't have enough sociopolitical issues with business, now they throw an abhorrent party like this? Now, if it was the piñata had a lynching, that would be even more viral-inducing.

Stop. This was a group of activists. For every one of them who engaged I'm sure there were some who thought it was wrong.

You act like all Hispanics are the same. They're very family-oriented and clannish, but to imply they all have the same mentality is wrong.
