We can continue attacking the innocent people on both sides all we want, but once **** really hits the fan we are all going to be regretting the damage we did for nothing

Halirious how some of the people most obsessed with politics are quick to get uncomfortable very considerably

But what does that tell you?

I am learning how to be less hive minded over time, I will still have somewhat harsh criticisms of certain social or political groups, but I will never ever vilify someone to the point where I want death upon them, that's the point behind extremist thinking

And I feel like individualists are in huge danger even moreso because historically speaking politics has never been kind to the individual

Spot on.

The two major parties have adopted a tactic of semantics to divide and solidify the voters.

Meanwhile, the public discourse has taken that ball and run.

Being your own person has never cost so much or been subject to so much abuse.

It’s absurd, given that America’s identity has been built on individualism, and that our identity is one of being the place where disruptors can make real change.

I don’t know exactly where we chained ourselves to that kind of tribalism, but you’re not alone. If you stay the course and be true to you, you’ll attract more, and be the seed which puts America back on her better track.

What's not to understand?

Put it this way

Moderates in both parties are being attacked and over consumed by extremists on both sides

Is probably because politics is now probably more mainstream than religion or even television itself. Too many dip****s are now using politics as a form of escapism.

They shame minors for being interested in politics, but they won't say the same for people who don't even bother to vote, but spend 95% of time posting political memes and bashing on a political figure because it's the trendy thing to do

This. Both sides have something to offer. I don't understand this tribal mentality. Our country should be the focus, not left vs right or right vs left. My guy may be a crook but aren't they all? Well, no. How is that mentality good for our country? You can't say that, it might offed someone. Well suck it up buttercup. Many people died for the right of free speech. It seems people are forgetting how to compromise or even admit when they're wrong.
