Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii), who has charged the Obama administration with funneling money to the Islamic State and al-Qaeda-linked groups in Syria, visited Damascus this week on what her office called a “fact-finding trip . . . to promote and work for peace.”

Gabbard’s office, which did not announce the trip, said that for security reasons it would release no details on the trip until her return, including whether she met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

A member of the House Foreign Affairs and Armed Services committees, Gabbard has called for the administration to abandon all assistance to armed groups and stop seeking Assad’s overthrow, saying that the effort undermines the fight against the Islamic State there.
Good to see ONE Democrat with some common sense and integrity.

Her CNN interview. CNN Jake Taper trying hard with their typical established propaganda. She looks like a great observer.

Sorry - any fool that decides to ally with the Butcher of Damascus, has zero relationship with “common sense and integrity”. Nancy Pelosi did the same thing during the Bush Administration and that was BEFORE al-Assad managed to be responsible for the Death of 500,000 Syrians.

Bashar al-Assad is a puppet of both Hezbollah and Iran ... with a lot of help from Russia and North Korea to maintain his power.

Been saying this for years.

Arming Anti-Assad(many consist of terror linked groups) groups not only prolonged the war by years, it enabled radical Islamic groups to flourish and gain strength.

Dems should be putting her on the news every day and in the public's eye the way FOX has done with AOC and the looney tune squad. If they knew how to properly manage their brand, that's what they'd be doing anyways.
