For those still suffering from the Educational Industrial Complex's brainwashing there are no victims and no natural rights being violated in this case.

An example of a natural right violation would be when Obama blew the head off Abdulrahman Anwar al-Awlaki, a 16-year-old American boy living in Yemen, or when Trump slaughtered his 8-year-old sister, Nawar al-Awlaki.

And yet those two sociopathic goons walk free.

Another day in Statistville...

Stop feeding the kitties, when told not to, no matter your age.

Or feed them and then keep them in your house so they don't bother your neighbors.

Easy.

The rest of your post should have its own thread b/c there is ZERO connection to granny who thinks she's above the law, due to her age.

At one of the major parks in my town a sign says, "Do not feed the geese". I've never heard of anyone getting in trouble for it. The Canadian geese crap too much on the sidewalk that runs around the park's lake. But the baby geese they produce every spring is so cute as pictured.

The town deals with the feral cat problem by capturing them, neutering them and releasing them back. It gives the local vet students some practice.

Well, what is screwy about any similar situation is that, though a "feeder" believes that they are doing something right, it is not well-thought out, being more about hoarding and one not considering the entire picture, feeding strays outdoors collecting in one area to be fed, creating more harm than good.

It would be like any orphans, even children, not entirely cared for and socialized, who are seeking more food, warmth, shelter, attention, survival. What breaks my heart is, cats like these don't know the difference, being guided by what little they have from one human, not having a real home, care or love.. their behavior not being their fault.

That would be one of the right things to do.

I'm a cat lover, but she was given multiple warnings and chose to continue violating the law. We are overcriminalized a society (I can agree there), but people who think the rules don't apply to them after being given multiple chances are get no sympathy from me.

All of the libertarians posting to this thread seem to have a strong sense of what shouldn't bother everyone else in life, yet I wonder how quick they start crying if I keep 3 barking dogs night and day in the yard next to them? Or if I started raising pigs back there illegally upwind of them?
I think jail is best reserved for actual murderers, robbers, and rapists rather than kindly old ladies who mildly inconvenience Mathguy.

Feral cats are a nuisance at best and a health and environmental hazard at worst. That said, jail is overkill for this and most other non-violent crimes.

This is fair. If any of the cats she regularly feeds causes damage, especially to someone's private property, then it should be her responsibility to fix it.

Otherwise, leave her be.
