Many people may not know of or have forgotten the seminal event that took place in Charlotte back in 2011. Indeed, it has largely been scrubbed from the web, much like the link I've tendered has been scrubbed of comments. Jared Taylor was scheduled to speak in Charlotte and was intercepted by Antifa before he could check into the hotel he had reservations at. Local tv crews captured the moment, can no longer find it on Youtube. Turned out that then interim mayor Patrick Cannon had placed himself in the middle of this embarrassment and had contacted the local hotels on behalf of Antifa. Thinking everyone in Charlotte at the time remembers what happened to Cannon.
One of the many shades of Antifa in Charlotte. There used to be several videos concerning this event on Youtube - all appear to have been removed. You can bet similar 'players' will be active during the upcoming convention.
It should be quite a lively convention then. Kind of like the Chicago Dem Convention in '68.
Yes, and this is what Charlotte fears - that blacks and other minorities will riot, curse, destroy property, and attack the police, like in Ferguson and Baltimore. It's a bad look for the party that paints minorities (other than Jews, obviously) as poor, helpless victims of oppression who need sympathy, and more of other people's money.
Looks like Charlotte, NC is having second thoughts about hosting the RNC's renomination convention, given the city is predominantly black and latino. They can't back out though, because of legal consequences.
Not to belabor the point, but it seems unlikely Charlotte has gotten whiter in the last decade and:
"According to the 2010 United States Census, the racial composition of Charlotte was 45.1% White or Caucasian, 35.0% Black or African American, 13.1% Hispanic or Latin American, 5.0% Asian, 0.5% Native American, 0.1% Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, 6.8% some other race, and 2.7% two or more races."
So it would be accurate to state that a minority of the City is white....and, yes, lots of Hispanics are under the white category but they tend not to vote KKK........
Most places want those conventions due the the whoring and drinking and hotel and other revenues.....it's a real party. No one is going to diss Charlotte in the future due to having hosted the GOP....
That said, Charlotte ain't my cup of tea...but political conventions are not usually tied in with family trips to Disney World of the beach anyway.
The basic idea is to swing a swing state by having it in one....
Charlotte has had major growth and migration over the past 25 years. A lot of it has been Northerners and some Midwesterners. I could totally see those groups being whiter than the existing residents.
I live in Charleston, SC and our population boom has also made the city more white, not less.
I do have to feel bad for Charlotte on one count- this is their second Presidential nominating convention in the past decade...
Evidently America’s heartland in Washington DC is the best location. Long way around and much wasted funds but DC is the best place to host a convention, great optics.
