The fact is the black community has the highest single motherhood rate, and the highest school dropout rate of all races in the United States.

Those are personal choices, not "institutionalized" racism.

Change my mind.
There are more actual children born OOW among white people than black, same with the overall number of drop outs.

Maybe the way you frame the argument is more of a problem than the problem itself... at least in this context.

In short, does society see the child of a single family household who dropped out as equal to the black one ???

If the answer is no, then obviously it goes deeper than just the 2 things you mentioned.

It's not just America where Black people are dysfunctional. Africa is the poorest continent on the planet. Black people in the Caribbean and Latin America are the poorest on their racial ladders. Black people in Europe cause all the same problems as Black people in America.

It's fairly obvious - human beings are not all equal, and we're seeing the outcome.
Or you know, colonization and companies claiming control of areas for hundreds of years. Depriving them of resources and self determination.

Asians were victims of redlining practices as well, but they now have the HIGHEST home ownership rates of all minority groups.

Wonder what could be the difference?

What is the marriage rate of whites today?

Statistics cited without any kind of reference points mean nothing.

I'll help -- 1960 American marriage rate 72 per cent.
2016 --- 50%

Seems there has been a general decline in marriage across the board.

So using that stat as some kind of indicator of racial differences doesn't seem to be as effective as some of you think.
It might have been economic changes in the environment for black. Men. And possibly feminism might have to be blamed for this. As well as the introduction of the welfare state 50 years ago. Even Moynihan pointed out the troubles of black America in the 1970s.

Whew. That's one way to look at it.

RATES, not nominal numbers. That's why your entire premise is wrong.

Self-selecting population?

Asian immigrants are usually among the most motivated and/or educated people from their countries. West African immigrants are on average among the wealthiest, highly educated and successful people in this country. Care to venture why?

Do you think their problems would suddenly cease if they were given reparations in the form of property? Your comment is purely an excuse for poor behavior.
