As do I and I live in Calif. also. The west coast has lost its collective minds. Portland, Oregon is another example of a majority of progressive kooks.
Seattle is even worse. A disabled woman was raped twice: once before he was arrested and again after he was released. There will be a revolution when people vote out the current city council.

I am going to laugh when you are right, but right because the council shifted more to the left than towards the center. USA cities don't shift more towards the center, they continue to go left. I cannot think of a MAJOR USA city that goes toward the center in a sustained movement. It always goes left.
Visit California and tell me that’s true. It’s a gorgeous place. See some of my above posts. Relegating it to craphole status because of politics is to miss out on a pretty unique place.
Politics aside, California is still a lovely place. Not that many other locales where you can conceivably surf, golf, and ski in the same day. The climate is amazing, the scenery is lovely, and you have basically any cuisine or culture you could possibly want, and it’ll most likely be nearby, too. Sure I’m biased, I grew up there. Most people will maintain some emotional bond with where they grew up.
COL keeps me away more than the politics, since I’ll be a political outsider pretty much anywhere I go.
I have noticed that the states I like and dislike don’t seem to correlate with being a blue or red state; it’s a pretty poor metric, and it’ll keep you away from a lot of the beauty that we have in this nation.
It's got crapholes. But overall it's beautiful. If anything it's mainly our cities that need fixing. But I'm guessing most on C-D are country types and CA has alot of amazing wilderness..
