One very chilling element common to all of them was that electronic games "immunize" certain people to violence. The best soldiers of today played hours and hours and hours of games on their computers or TVs and killed more people (electronically) before they ever got into the military than an entire WWll division killed during the war.

Combine this unique skill-set with mental illness and a false sense of some wrong committed to them, you now have a killing machine that is not bothered by screams, smells, blood and guts.

I'm willing to bet that the El Paso killer was a gamer...

We no longer lock crazies in institutions, they either live on the streets or sit, locked up in their bedrooms eating Cheetos and playing computer games
The violence in the movies has gone way overboard to.

Sure let's shut down video games but promote shooting ranges with human figures as the target for fun!!!!

Lololololololoolololololololol

It’s not video games, it’s not movies, its not rap music.

It comes down to parenting and our reproduction standards.

Violent video games, movies, songs, TV shows, etc., might inspire a person to commit a violent crime but it doesn't cause said person to commit a crime. Outside of coercion or maybe being high, both of which doesn't excuse the act, that person makes a choice to commit the violent act.

I haven't found this to be the case with the kids and their friends. Real life blood and guts would bother them, a lot. Of course, we discuss some of the stuff with him, try and get a reading of his view. I think it is common for the kids to play super violent games and still be soft hearted.

Honestly, I had more concerns about porn and it's impact on him. THAT's always fun to discuss.

Japan has more video games per capita than any country in the world, how many died there from gun violence? The past 8 years? 44.

Those games desensitize you to killing. However while this may be a factor as I noted in my first post it's side topic and amy only exacerbate underlying issues. Blaming video games is as absurd as blaming the gun.

Kids in Canada -- same games, same movies -- Canada does not have the same rate per capita as here.

This argument should have been tossed out years ago.

The BFA is a Marxist organization in bed with a fellow Marxist outlet known as the NRA.

I suggest some de-programming if you stumbled upon a seminar put on by them.

I personally know 3 of the 5 individuals you named as I've traversed my career in the criminal justice field. If I had to put money on it I'd say all 3 sleep with a poster of Stalin above their bed.

You're welcome.

Why not blame rock n roll while you're at it. And twinkies, aka the Dan White defense.
