Too bad. Seems like he made a good point - that we react with huge indignation over public violence, but shrug off on-going situations which may be worse in the long run.

Seems like when people get emotional they can't bear someone being non-emotional.

While probably not the time to tweet it, he is absolutely right. People are really undereducated on statistics and probabilities in this country.

Just the facts jack. I find incompetence the biggest issue of our day.

The difference is that everything else on his list we are proactive in finding solutions. Gun violence not so much.

The same people upset about this are the sane people that rant about Republicans not believing in science (data)

There is a time and a place for everything. Tyson was way off with this one.

Neil was displaying facts, but on the left, they don't want to hear facts. Neil needs to becareful before the mob comes after his job. What makes it worse is that Neil is a person of color. White liberals do not like persons of color thinking outside a certain frame work.

Oh come on...I am a white (albeit moderate) liberal and I have no issue with what he said. He might have waited another 24 hours but not going to quibble. He was merely pointing out facts...and we should never let data/facts upset us.
