Didn't hear about this much in the media so thought it should be shared. This weekend 47 people were shot in Chicago and it got so bad that the hospital had to stop accepting patients. Violence is really out of control in Chicago.

The reason why so many people engage in histrionics over mass shootings like what happened this weekend, and ignore gun violence in places like Chicago, is because in their minds the shootings in Chicago have some form of rhyme and reason to them.
That is, it's mostly gang related, and there's comfort zone in that because if you don't live in those areas and don't involve yourself in gangs and crime, then it doesn't affect you. Let them shoot and kill each other, as long as it doesn't affect civilians, who cares.
However, mass shootings like this past weekend, that kind of stuff doesn't happen to good people in everyday, normal, safe environments. Here you are enjoying a weekend shopping trip with your family in kids in a huge public store, Walmart. Next minute, people around you are dying and some madman is casually walking around gunning people down at random. Hence, all the mass hysteria and non stop hand wringing and endless debates over irrelevant issues.
I heard it. What’s your point? It’s not exactly 20 dead in one shooting.
It was only 11 at one time. But they didn't all die. I work at one of the hospitals next to Douglas Park, where this happened and drive by this area almost everyday. It's a **** hole!
Im not shocked or surprised this happened. And it happens in this area all the time, this time was just more than normal.

How often do you go to the hood? How often do you want to?
