I talked about what I get asked or hear about from the news. What people from other countries have to say. Like you I am not overly concerned about their opinions, although I am surprised at times.

Many of their insights are spot on. For example what we spend on our military and how we use it. Most countries dont have bases all over the world. Most countries simply dont feel that it is their responsibility to police the globe. I agree with them.

Then there is the health care issues that completely confuse them. They can't figure out why we went with the ACA. I laugh and agree with them.
By "they can't figure why we went with the ACA," do you mean why we went with the ACA instead of universal healthcare or why we went with the ACA instead of leaving our previous system in place?

Anyone telling me something negative about my government would get a shoulder shrug, nod and standard "ah yup" from me. And I would then agree that the same negative is true of every government, everywhere, across all recorded history, forever and ever. Governments are the most vile version of collective that humans have ever thought up. Ours in no better or worse than other, because vile is vile, and not subject to gradation.

Once we got that cleared up, I'd ask for local knowledge on cool stuff to do and see. I am an explorer and adventurer, so point me in cool directions.
