I know people are passionate about their guns but it often gives people the mental picture of an angry old conservative. So it’s kind of a negative look.

Would you suggest a change? These shooting aren’t helping and its putting guns in a very bad light because these creeps/losers commit these horrible acts. I don’t own guns or ever plan on getting one. But for owners here, what would you suggest?

Perhaps you should start by asking whether members of the gun culture actually give a rats furry behind what those who are opposed to them "think".

I'd suggest keeping it in one of the numerous threads already active

Why don't you judge the individual on his/her/whatever principle instead of stereotype?

Break free from the collectivism.

Stigma?

We, as gun owners, don't have a "stigma" and don't care what liberals think. I find it amusing that a liberal thinks that such a notion is anywhere on our radar and would ever give a damn about the liberal perception of gun owners.

Your opinion about guns is absolutely of no importance to us at all. I find it stunning that someone would actually think otherwise.

So gun owners are supposed to get a new face when the mainstream media does everything possible to paint gun owners as angry old conservatives or violent thugs?

But images are deceiving.

I believe in property rights which includes guns (and tanks, nukes, etc) and would never initiate force on a soul due to this principle.

You don't believe in property rights and have no problem funding/actively supporting the slaughtering of innocents.

Again, images are deceiving.
