I’m ok with this if it helps get illegals counted. You know that false 11 million number is about 3x short

If I were king...or a mod...I'd issue infractions for people who post thread titles with troll like false information

How's that for a slap in the face to American citizens who could have used that pay.

THE CENSUS BUREAU IS pursuing a legal loophole that its officials believe would allow them to temporarily hire non-U.S. citizens as part of its efforts to reach populations that are difficult to count, including in non-English speaking and immigrant communities.

The article says they will hire permanent legal residents - i.e. Greencard holders.

Ah.... but you won’t know if they are illegals. Remember, that question isn’t allowed.

I have been accepted twice as a census taker but declined due to present health. I recall they had certain qualifications:
Those qualifications are:
Be a U.S. citizen.
Be at least 18 years old.
Have a valid Social Security number.
Pass a background check.
Have an email address.
Complete four days of training.
Complete an application and pass an assessment (questions are available in Spanish, but an English proficiency test may be required)

You need to go back to English class and take a course in reading comprehension. Or stop with the clickbait threads. Per the article: "Census officials subsequently denied that they have any plans to hire anyone who is in the country illegally.
"The Census Bureau only intends to temporarily hire permanent legal residents to act as translators," said Michael Cook, a division chief in the agency's public information office." Permanent legal residents aren't illegals. There is a difference. And considering the right's hate for people who don't speak English, they desperately need them, since Confederate flag waving Trump supporters rarely speak languages besides English.

If all they need to apply is a DL then yes, illegals from CA can apply.
But it specifically says:
Census officials subsequently denied that they have any plans to hire anyone who is in the country illegally

Have the right wingers gotten so paranoid that they even think green card holders might be illegal aliens?
Or are they inadvertently telling us they really just don't like any immigrants at all?

I don't think the federal government is allowed to hire non-citizens. I also think they're going to have to be fingerprinted like other government workers. If that's true, how will that sit with illegals?
"Executive Order 13467, as amended, requires that all Federal employees (and covered individuals as defined in EO 13467) be fingerprinted."
https://www.opm.gov/FAQs/QA.aspx?fid...e-55a5734559c4
Federal contractors are included in the fingerprinting. I would think that the people who go to your home because you didn't complete the census you got in the mail would be checked on a Criminal database.
