White people do have culture. Our culture is that of colonization. Of genocide. Of taking. Of envy and of fear. The majority of white people can name no more than two generations back in their families. The majority of white people barely know where their grandparents were from, much less who their ancestors were. The majority of white people have no traditions, and the ones we have, are rooted in consumption and the superficial application of organized religion, both of which are steeped in histories of violence.
I’d disagree with that slightly, but I’d disagree more deeply that we need to be talking race, when race is supposedly an institution we need to destroy.
I wonder what fine educational institution that lib went to where he never learned about people such as Galileo, Kepler, Herschel, Hubble, Copernicus, Ptolemy, Darwin, Aristotle, Lamarck, Linnaeus, Lavoisier, Berzelius, Davy, Lyell, Hutton, Newton, Rutherford, Faraday, Euler, Newton, Euclid, Pasteur, Hippocrates, Koch, Watt, Edison, Leonardo, Archimedes, Plato, Kant, Beethoven, Mozart, Wagner, Bach, Michelangelo, Raphael, Rembrandt, Shakespeare, Dante, Homer, and thousands more... It's not a competition though.
Did anyone else notice that John Kozy, whom the author quoted as evidence of this quackery, referred to "American" culture rather than "white" culture. He pointed out the horrendous murder rate in America. Most of those are NOT committed by white people. The entire article was astoundingly stupid and full of falsehoods.
High school newspapers print articles with better research. Her family must own the media company.
The author concludes with: "Call out the bull$hit when you see it". That's what I just did!

Without black culture, there’s no rock and roll, no sexual revolution, and I daresay no women’s vote, and no license to enjoy a bit of hedonism.

Where we are. If you're white, and you hate it, there is a solution.
Once again, this has zero to do with race, and the fact that non-whites who immigrated to this country over the past 40 years have a much closer connection to their home countries than white immigrants (most of which immigrated to this country 100+ years ago) do. Asians and Hispanics are the perfect example of this, they tend to not have generations of family that lived in America before them like white people do. Therefore, those first/second gen Asian/Hispanic immigrants have a bigger connection to wherever they were from. But in 50-100 years from now, the kids /grandkids of these Asians/Hispanics will lose their culture just like white people who have been here for a long time did, and they will simply become Americans. It's already beginning to happen to the people of Hispanic origin whose ancestors came to American cities in the early-to mid 1900's.
It's all about assimilation. Every immigrant group, no matter who they are, will go through this eventually.
The focus should not be "white people have no culture", but "America has no culture", if you're going to make that an argument.
Also, can you specify for me what "black culture" is?
