News flash - Most stores have traditionally sold guns throughout our countries history, yet we rarely had a mass shooting.
Violent video games are a newer phenomenon within the last 30 years, and now we are having a lot more mass shootings.
Love or hate guns, this is not a gun problem as there has always been access to them.
Instead it is a cultural, morals, and parenting problem. Allowing kids to be babysat by watching violent TV and play gratuitously violent video games contributes to our moral decay.
Also not getting kids and adults with mental illness treatment and having them flagged as people who should be prohibited (at least until receiving treatment and getting better) from buying guns should be in place.

Not clear on whether they are only removing signs depicting violent imagery, or actual violent video games.
Edit: apparently they still sell everything they sold before, it's just that they are not putting up displays of violent video games or playing violent movies/shows on their TVs.
A friend of a friend of mine, is in the video game business as a developer/marketer. He makes more money than another guy in my circle of friends that's a doctor. There's billions of $$$$$$$$ in video games. I don't expect them to ever own up to promoting violence, but could easily see someone with mental issues being able to "play their game" in a movie theater or shopping center.

And how many millions of people around the world, even with mental issues, play violent games and never act on what they see? I've played some and have no such problems. My husband plays daily and he doesn't have these problems.
Hell, I've tortured Sims before, but have no urge to do so in reality.
Consistency would say that as many Wally Marts as possible would also stop selling all violent video/computer games, violent movies, explicit music, hunting gear, toy weapons, etc.
