Hey OP, how can Democrats start talking about the economy without addressing the fact that all of the dem 2020 candidates openly support giving "free" healthcare to illegal immigrants and essentially every open border policy that anyone could dream up?

If they want to run on fixing an economy that's currently on fire won't they have to stop admitting to want a bunch of policies that will destroy it?

But he's the guy who is assumed to be the most palatable to white baby boomers. Everyone else is too far left and will supposedly not stand a chance against Trump.

I'm for Warren myself.

Great, how are you going to convince Americans that a proven liar who wants to give illegals tax payer funded healthcare would be a good choice?

This economy is only "on fire" if you are listening to Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh. Listen to what real economists have to say about Trump's trade wars and the impact they are having. It's very, very grim.

You won't be able to defend this economy next year at this time if things continue in their current trajectory.

Or if you're a small business owner, a middle class tax payer, a 401K or IRA owner, a stock holder or just honest.

You're still hoping for our economy to fail, do you realize how pathetic that is?

"Give it a year or two--you'll see"

Where have we heard this before?

So hoping the economy crashes is the new Mueller report?

Really? I'm hoping for it to fail?

My guess is that Hannity or Limbaugh are saying that liberals want the economy to fail but I'm really hoping it hangs on until Trump is out of office. Who would want to see millions of people lose their jobs and homes?

For the record, I'm against free healthcare for illegals, but Trump's incompetence on every major issue and also the issue of separation of church and state are more important to me. You don't have to agree with your party on every single issue.

I don't doubt that Bill Maher speaks for a lot of people. He wants a recession so Trump will 'go away'.

You have to wonder what the stock market will do if Creepy Uncle Joe or one of his cohorts wins the election.

It would be interesting to hear a Democratic platform that was practical. Healthcare is still a mess, we're still not extracted from the Bush/Obama war in the Mideast. A set of promises built atop 'free healthcare for everyone', wetfoot-dryfoot immigration, debt forgiveness for all students, and confiscation of any gun that doesn't require manual reloading doesn't strike me as a great set of ideas.

Consider the economy Obama inherited. If you don't, you're nothing but a blind partisan. It was a slow recovery but it was on the right track by 2015 and 2016. It really took off in 2017 before Trump's policies really had much of an effect.

Thank you for summing up your hopeless situation so nicely.

FTR, I like Warren too!
