Every time someone says that illegals commit crimes in smaller numbers, they are outright lying or quoting lies. No such statistics are kept on the state level. I wouldn't focus on illegal aliens and their arrest records. They are really not the problem. I had a long talk with a County Sheriff out west.
His comment, fifteen years ago, was that most illegals are pretty good about not committing crimes. This might have changed in recent years with the drug cartels and smuggling of humans in the United States.
His comment, however, was it was their CHILDREN that were committing the bulk of the crimes. They were the ones with a chip on the shoulder with regards to America. Their parents were grateful for any opportunity. Their children want to be upper class Americans and will steal to get there!!
So the statistics really don't show the extent of crimes due to illegal immigration.
Remember their children are Americans due to the 14th amendment.
How many times does it have to be pointed out that these are federal crimes?
Federal crimes are a minority of all crimes. Most crimes committed are state crimes (murder, theft, etc).
By claiming that non-citizens are some large percentage of federal arrests, you're still looking at a minority of all crimes, because federal crimes are a minority of all crimes.
