The irony that I’ve come to enjoy is that the kneelers are protesting a country which not only allows free speech for them and their critics but also prohibits them from becoming violent with one another. Many times their protests take place in countries which do not have such wide ranging freedoms as their birth country.

It’s a shame that people have forgotten that social change can be done via peaceful means and while still respecting the nation you are trying to change. Martin Luther King isn’t important because he led riots and trashed America, he is remembered for his speeches.

I seriously hope all those offended by kneeling during the anthem are against the display of the confederate flag. Because southerners where BURNING the U.S. flag prior to the civil war.

No, I’m not offended by the Confederate flag. I do find it ironic that you refer to a part of history where the people disrespecting the flag got their hind ends handed to them by an army of civilian volunteers led by a drunk general.
