It is your experience, and your kind tells us that we can crap on this Planet forever.

The part that I find amusing is that all the predictions made by the doomsayers since oh, about 1970, most, if not all, of them Have. Not. Come. TRUE!
And yet, we are supposed to believe them when they say that we have 12 years to "do something" (no definitive ideas about what needs done, though) or we will all begin to DIE!!

well, people have been crapping on this planet for all of mankind's existence, yeah. do you suggest they hold it in? don't think that's going to work.

What predictions you are referring to? Planet is getting hotter, the greatest extinction since dinosaur time is ongoing, Siberia is on fire....at some point all of that will affect you having your burger on a chemical bun, but then it will be too late. To dismiss predictive power of science just because it does not fit locust mentality known as "conservatism" that's beyond idiotism.

Al the snow and ice in Siberia is burning? That would be a neat trick.

There is no toilet for this Planet and there is no warp drive to leave it, you'll crap on it until there will be nothing to crap with. But journey to that terminal conservative destination will not be pleasant.

It's pretty well documented how much fossil fuels we burn. And the laws of chemistry are irrefutable - burning them makes CO2. There is also irrefutable proof that CO2 is a greenhouse gas.
1. fossil fuels do produce CO2

2. There is not irrefutable proof that CO2 is a "greenhouse gas". This concept was refuted nearly 100 years ago.

3. plants take up CO2

4. The ocean is in equilibrium with the atmosphere and its buffering capabilities are far from exhausted- the pH of the ocean is 7.8-8.4, which is still basic, not acidic.

5. The planet has had CO2 levels 20x higher in the past and did fine.

To me it's reasonable to think that people have changed the environment for the worse, there's too darned many of them. For some reason greenhouse gases get the majority of the press anymore.

I have to admit that it confuses me that someone can be convinced that the US is killing the world via CO2 while at the same time desires as many people move here from the Third World as possible.

There is proof and it is rock solid. Mathematically indisputable.

Robust analysis of three independent temperature databases shows a "5 sigma" correlation to manmade fossil fuel emissions and rising temperatures. 5 sigma is the gold standard: there is only a one-in-a-million chance that all three temperature databases would consistently rise together due to natural variability.

The 5 sigma result is better than many DNA matches admitted into a court of law. In fact, the 5 sigma result is so rock solid that if man-made climate change were put on trial the verdict would be guilty, with evidence beyond a reasonable doubt.
