Not everyone who kills or injures someone with a gun in a criminal. Some are just bad shots or clumsy.

Who's going to underwrite this "insurance"? How is the city going to get paid for an accidental discharge or an accidental shooting? Doesn't the insurance pay the injured?

San Jose mayor proposes mandatory gun liability insurance
No. Unconstitutional. Illegal to force the citizens to buy from a third party to exercise their constitutional rights.

Another loony leftist idea that will go nowhere. But I'd check the paper trail. This mayor has to be in the insurance industry's pocket.

Sounds a bit.... infringey. Maybe the Mayor should have insurance in case any of his 1st Amendment free speech things offend me. After all, the leftists consider offensive words to constitute violence.

So a criminal steals a weapon and commits a murder with it, the owner is responsible for this and pays for it through his "insurance"?

It’s Obamacare for guns. And we know forcing people to buy a product for something thats a right. It’s blatantly unconstitutional.

So then what is the point of the insurance?

How is this going to happen?

San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo unveiled a gun safety proposal Monday that he knows won’t “suddenly end gun violence” — but will ensure the nation’s 10th largest city will stop paying for it.
