Most states have chosen not to make eVerify of all employees a state law. Those states that have, created known loopholes for employers- the law does not apply to independent contractors and all employed before the law were exempt. More importantly, most of these states have no budget or intention to enforce the state law.

Employment of undocumented people is bipartisan.
It is a Democrat (and corporatist Republican as I clarified in a subsequent post) line. But let's be clear. The only ones speaking out against this today seem to be Republicans as democrats today seem any action that would undermine illegal immigration as racist

After the interview I would guess not half took the job.

It was ultimately more than 100 people who showed up

And this was just one jobs fair!

Others will apply online while others directly in person. Face it, though. Americans will do these jobs.

Well it's USA Today. They went there first thing in the AM and saw a few dozen.
Did they go back later in the afternoon when the tally reached 150 ?

There were multiple job fairs in different places. Did they report on that ?

Mostly Blacks and Whites were there applying..very few Hispanic.

We should be lucky that USA even reported on it because it goes against the pro-immigration agenda.."Americans don't want to do this work".

Doesn't sound "debunked" to me. Sounds like few Americans want those kinds of jobs.
Probably why the plant hired illegal aliens last time. It was probably either that, or not have enough workers to keep the plant open - in which case EVERYONE there (including AMERICANS) would lose their jobs.

They have 680 openings and only 25 people showed up? So basically you are saying nobody wants that job. You must be a Democrat then.

Bell said more than 200 people filled out applications during the job fair, which ran from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

It's a start. These 25 people who showed up are some of the remaining who were not displaced because of no jobs available in that area. Had these illegals not been removed, those 25 who showed up wouldn't have been given a chance for work.

I wonder if the pay they are offering is the same amount they paid illegals.

From your own article:

About 25 to 30 people showed up to apply for jobs at Koch Foods' nearby poultry processing plant. Of those, about an equal number were black, white or Latino.

"This is what you'd normally see here," said Dianne Bell, communications director for the Mississippi Department of Employment Security, of the job fair held between 9 and 11 a.m.

So no change. This seems to disprove your point rather than the opposite.

680 job openings, 30 applicants.
