A restriction of certain types of weapons already passed back in the 1990's, it just banned ownership of certain weapons. Very weak and ineffective legislation because it was so narrow and manufacturers changed design to get around the law, there should be much broader legislation to be effective.
It doesn't completely ban your right to a firearm.
Wrong. It doesn't ban anything. It does burden honest citizens with having to buy a tax stamp to own a machine gun.
Hundreds of thousands have paid the fee and enjoy shooting them.
Get over your lost cause. Those like myself will block your attempts. We are insurmountable.
We already had an assault weapon ban back in 1994, so it's not exactly unprecedented. It survived several constitutional challenges, but not the politics.
Oh yes, the ban that didn't "ban" anything, that one? I bought more "assault weapons" during that 10 years than any other time in my life. Ban, ha ha. Hell, they may as well have added "all weapons" to it because it did nothing. I mean really, it was a joke. I guess a few slept better. The completely clueless.

It was not a ban, people could still buy, sell, and possess.
And 99.99% of those polled don't know what an "assault weapon" was - since the term doesn't have any definition, other than what the government wants to call one.
This is why the opinion of a plurality of the idiot masses isn't enough to throw out Constitution rights.

Yes, but how effective has it been?!! LOL
From what I can tell, those full auto laws are as effective as any other infringement..(not very much)
Well, the way mass shooting seems to work these days is that every time it happens, it fuels the debate about banning assault weapon. As a result, the Republicans then find themselves in a tough situation. But after a while, everything seems to go back to normal.
