That's your opinion. Now, since the 2nd amendment exists, it requires a little more effort than convincing 51 senators or over 50% of the house to pass some bills. It will require another amendment limiting the scope of the 2nd amendment. Anything short of that is cheating. And if we don't play by the rules of our own constitution, very soon we will stop playing at all and begin fighting.
I think I would actually be fine with letting them have their much-beloved assault-style weapons if we could get a ban on the high caliper clips. That's where the key lies. The Dayton shooter had a high caliber 'tub' style clip. Police arrived in about 30 seconds, but he was still able to get off numerous shots. Two or three bullets should be enough for any legitimate purpose.
Looking forward to all the MAGA righties telling us how socialist /communist /leftist faux news has become lol
It doesn't matter how many people in this country support an assault weapons ban. The NRA has told Trump no, and that's that. Shame people don't actually represent the constituents who put them in office.

Now, let's throw a complexity into that in that you have fallen down a gully and one arm is in a sling. If you don't have a preloaded magazine, how are you going to send off those signals? Is this not a legitimate purpose?
Don't worry. Even though the majority of folks want an assault weapons ban, Trump and the NRA will see to it that it doesn't happen. As will the rest of the Republicans, although their constituents are for it. Shame there is no representation anymore.

Yes it does. You don't need Trump, or the NRA. All you need is 34 state legislator bodies to convene a constitutional convention to amend the constitution (notice I said state legislators, not the house of representatives). If all the people were on your side as you claim, you'd do that. But they're not on your side, which is why you don't even try to go this route.

why couldn't you just have a little packet of firecrackers for such a scenario? Less weight than a tub style high caliper clip filled with bullets, no?

I didn't realize that. Maybe that's something that people who are for the ban need to address with their state legislative bodies. Thanks for that tip. I think it would be a lot more far-reaching for Trump and Congress to act to enact a federal ban though.

Just shows you have no idea about guns, caliber, and gun part nomenclature. Typical gun ban supporter.
High-caliber would mean a larger size bullet, and "tub style clip?" Does that keep your hair out of the bath tub? The AR-15, and several wooden stock varmint rifle variations use a fairly small but high velocity .223" bullet. The drum style magazines are what you were trying to reference. Most magazines are anywhere from 7-30 rounds for a majority of the handguns and rifles out there that are semi-automatic. It only takes a couple seconds for someone to swap in a full magazine and its not going to change a thing in an active shooter situation. The best bet for putting an end to active shooter event is if someone else is carrying and can take the shooter out.
