What would Trump do with the brown skinned Inuits?
Lock them up in cages?
Deport them to Baltimore?

They would tell him to go back to where he came from.

Trump would rename Greenland's capital from Nuuk to Nuke

Oh, no. Heck no. We're not taking him. We've put up with much in the interest of a sound US-Danish relationship - up to and including being understanding about broken hydrogen bombs - but that right there? Nope. Take it back.

I might be amenable to making Hans Island a DMZ and putting him there, if push comes to shove, but that's it.

Fake news! There is nothing to buy. The MSM misses this. Greenland received autonomy from Denmark around 2002. Under the autonomy agreement, the Greenland parliament could declare independence at noon effective at midnight. Denmark pumps €200 million for some 56,000 Greenlanders into Greenland. Without Greenland, Denmark just goes back to being an insignificant European country - difficult to culturally distinguish for many across the world from similarly sized Austria, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Finland.

Whether Greenlanders are better off with the US or with Denmark is questionable - probably no one thought of it until now. It's not a member of the EU even though Denmark is. I am sure there is some soul searching to be done. If Canada is smart, they would try to reach Greenland leaders and offer for them to join Canada. Canada has a long track record of dealing with Inuit and with Nunavut Province seems to be well-positioned for this.

One thing, I would wager 3 to 1 odds that by 2025 Greenland is either part of Canada or the US. It's an opportunity that's on the table now.

I would also think that other dependencies are now in play - like the British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Turks & Caicos, Montserrat, Cayman. It would probably not happen that they become a US state; it would be too easy for people to land on the islands and claim asylum.

Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba would be so much better off and wealthier with the US just based on farming and ag. The tar sands and mines could be left untouched for another generation.

The idea of buying Greenland is not exactly silly. What is silly is to believe Denmark would agree to sell it for a price we could afford.
Some enterprising investor should start the Greenland Fund. People buy shares and before you know it you can make an Denmark and offer she cannot refuse. I am sure they'll make more money than all the butter they sell.
