The descriptions are no different from how the political atmosphere on leading campuses was described in the 1940s. Universities are socialist institutions and many of the instructors have long held similar political preferences. This is counterbalanced by the capitalist exposure most graduates later receive. Society has survived, students graduate, life goes on.
This state of affairs shouldn't excuse academic mobbing of colleagues, denial of tenure and hire for ideological reasons, and an unseriousness about being truthful and open-minded.

Then this will forever put them in a disadvantage to people who value Education and seek out a degree. Knowledge and understanding is a good thing....not a bad thing. When I signed on to the Republican party back in the seventies, it was not this way. It's sad, it shows how far they
have fallen.
What would our world be without education? Without Doctors and Scientists, Engineers and
teachers/Professors?
Please... nobody thinks knowledge is a bad thing. But there are legitimate concerns about the indoctrination issue.
I earned an advanced degree in a STEM field from a public university and it unquestionably was a liberal indoctrination center. I was 100% bought into Democrat beliefs, essentially brainwashed and I didn’t realize it at the time.
Furthermore this also occurred, but to a lesser degree at the public middle and high schools I attended.
It took 2-3 years of being out in the real world and thinking for myself to open my eyes.
The degrees enable me to live a comfortable, high income life. So there is absolutely value in higher education. But anyone who argues that most education facilities aren’t operated by liberals who seek to pollute the minds of their young followers is either delusional or dishonest.

I think it depends on where you went to school.
The intensity of the indoctrination attempts certainly vary depending on where you go, and the flavor of the ideology can vary too. But let's not kid ourselves into thinking there's ideological balance in the aggregate. The vast majority of tertiary educational institutions slant left to far left.
I haven't been, but MIT is more than just science and engineering. You'd get more of just that at a place like Harvey Mudd.
MIT has social science departments too and indoctrination sticks to them like white on rice. Noam Chomsky, who is one the most prolific academic leftists, teaches at MIT.
Science and engineering curricula are being infiltrated with DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion) elements which question objective truth. Same thing happened in the early 90s with the science wars. I'm not sure if this is happening at MIT, but thinking science and engineering curricula are automatically free of politics is wrong.
Have some political bias and 'indoctrination' are not the same thing.
Both of my daughters graduated and are doing well. I had faith that my 18+ years of influence and teaching would survive Professor I hate white men and the USA. I was correct.
I told my daughters to go with the flow and graduate. If only all courses were based upon fact and not someone's personal bias..

The world is full of bias.
Kids grow up having to process that...even from their parents.
Recognizing that there is some kind of bias in all of us and spouting 'indoctrination' are two different things.
