Meanwhile all of the red states are all heavily battered and deep fried in lard.

I agree, same here in SC about the sidewalks.

As a distance runner, I hate sidewalks. Running on pavement leads to knee, hip, ankle, and foot issues. With walking, it's the same effect, just not as pronounced.

Lived in CA 60 years and if by "healthy" you mean a lot of yoga and farmers markets sure...but nah. I even lost my great health insurance and long term providers thanks to that monstrosity called the ACA. Every other kid is on drugs, either Rx or illegal, and every 3rd person has some kind of "mental illness" or "PTSD".. But what do I know.

Left-wing views generally correlate with higher IQ's. In turn, that correlates with smarter choices. No wonder then that more liberal states are healthier. This applies to trends, obviously, it's not a rule.

Also, liberal doesn't necessarily equal 'far-left'. Just moderate left views.

The blue states have the unhealthiest minds. Too many bought and paid for children who want government to run their lives.

Let's repeat that so it sinks in: California is the healthiest state in the US.

The ranking is from US News & World Report - the same entity so many conservatives liked to point out that California had the lowest quality of life.

The 10 Healthiest States
1. California
2. New York
3. New Jersey
4. Hawaii
5. Massachusetts
6. Connecticut
7. Minnesota
8. Colorado
9. Washington
10. Utah
Hm. So, the question is, what does it mean?

Does it mean that Democrats are better at safeguarding citizen health, including by a safer environment?

Does it mean that Democrats are better at keeping the public informed?

Does it mean that Democrats are smarter and more likely to read up on health issues?

Does it mean that Democrats are more sensible, including practicing better eating/exercise habits?

Does it mean that Democrats, supporting abortion, are more likely only to have children that are wanted and well cared for?

Probably a combination of the above, though I'd guess your 2nd-to-last item would be the most important.

Hint: Is one more like to see a liberal or a conservative in a Whole Foods store?
